Bharatpur lays in the countryside, on the eastern border of Rajasthan, an Indo-Gangetic plain, full of culture, natural habitat and wildlife: our reserve, The Bagh, is strategically located to give you the chance to visit and explore diverse sectors of Keoladeo National Park, one of the most remarkable birdwatching site, Unesco world heritage and under Ramsar conservation and wise use of wetlands.

Keoladeo National Park is in the middle of Central Asian migratory flyway and due to its eleven sq. km covered by water large congregations of ducks (more than twenty species) and geese (Bar Headed and Greylag Geese, Pintail, Widgeon, Garganey and Teal), coots, pelicans and waders arrive in the winter.

The Bagh is a two hundred years old heritage garden, a 4 star exclusive lodge nestled in between Jaipur and Agra with strategic photographic hides through seven hectares of property: an adventure as no other company can suggest you! Seven hides in different habitats of the Bagh, up to eight people, to maximize photographic opportunities during day and night. The lodge has thirty modern and comfortable rooms spread among the beauty of Indian flora and fauna; the serving food at the  restaurant is “zero kilometer”, as it’s produced totally by nearby organic farms.

At the Keoladeo park you can birdwatch Spoonbills, Egrets, Cormorants, White Ibis, Kingfisher, Red Vented, Sun Birds, Sparrows, and a multitude of other species, not to forget a high odds to meet a Sambar (the largest Indian antelope), Spotted deer and Nilgais, Black Buck, Wild boar, Chital, Small Indian Civet, mammals such as Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat and many others.

Then you can take some time to relax and studying natural history and ornithology at The Bagh’s library, have a walk through the garden: Bagh’s estate has over fifty species of flora, which attracts birds, so you can easily continue your birdwatching by foot or inside our hides.

The park is also a wintering area for threatened species such as the Greater Spotted Eagle and Imperial Eagle,  amazing predatory birds with Tawny Eagle,  Short-toed Eagle, Fishing Eagle.
