The Guatemala´s Caribbean Rainforest Biological Corridor is one of the world

richest and most bio-diverse ecosystems in the world, securing ecological connectivity between Belize and Honduras, along the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. A network of 11 Protected Areas that stretch across the region and protect

the reefs, mangroves, wetlands, rainforests and cloud forests that bless this

beautiful land.

The Green Caribbean is a unique network of Ecotourism Sites located within

Caribbean Guatemala´s Protected Areas, designated for the photography

industry with specific activities and authentic experiences, not crowded within a

natural environment lavish on biological diversity and rich in information,

developed through years of direct work in the region, its ecosystems and its

host communities.

With 504 species of Birds, and more than 160 species of Mammals, the Green

Caribbean region is waiting to be discovered! Its varied and exuberant vegetation

mammals (160 sp.), 54% of vertebrate species (768 sp.), 56% of amphibians

(57 sp.), 50% of reptiles (90 sp.).

SUMMER TOURS

Contact Us

Thanks to our boat we will sail from the Bay of Amatique to the southern atolls of Belize. You can enjoy several days’ excursions in order to discover the wildest part of the Caribbean Sea. We could stay in small but picturesque huts on the semi-uninhabited islets, which are visited only by a handful of people each year.

In such exclusive sites we could discover the authentic nature of the Caribbean: dolphins will accompany us while we sail the waves, colourful fish will surround you thanks to our snorkelling sessions in luxuriant coral reefs and during navigation we will be able to offer food to pelagic birds in migration. They are numerous during this season in the atolls that they use as a stopping point. The stars of these trips are undoubtedly the Frigate birds, Pelicans and Gannets, which can get very close, allowing you spectacular photos.

The particular geographical position of Guatemala makes it a must for the North-South migrations of the American birdlife. Our reserves, placed from the Caribbean Sea to the Andes, will allow to fully enjoy this phenomenal moment on a dedicated tour. We will move across these areas, also with excursions through the jungle, to be able to observe a wide number of species in a few days. We are talking about a journey not only for birdwatchers but also for photographers. In fact, migratory birds are very present in feeder of our hides, they find food and refuge during their journey and allow us to photograph them in the best conditions.

OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2019

Every year populations of endangered sea turtles return to lay their eggs at the turtle hatchery at el Banco on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala.

Join this expedition to contribute to the conservation of endangered sea turtles in Guatemala, and develop a deeper appreciation for wildlife, and connect with your true nature.

Located in the community of el Banco on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala, Estación Biológica el Banco is a community-based biological research station.

MACRO PHOTO CENTRE

Contact Us

A new macro photography centre has been developed in our reserve so that, thanks to our specialised guides, we can closely photograph the typical minor fauna of the area such as insects, reptiles and amphibians. Among the reptiles we could also photograph some vipers including the famous Barba Amarilla (Bothrops atrox) and the Manos de Piedra (Atropoides nummifer), but also tarantulas and scorpions.
