In La Mandria Regional Park, history and nature intertwine creating a perfect combination of emotions and culture.
In XIX Century this was one of King Vittorio Emanuele II’s game reserves. He asked to build a high bundary wall that
surrounds this 3000 hectares estate and this allowed to preserve this portion of flat forest that used to be so properous
in all Padana lowlands.
La Mandria is just a few kilometres from Turin, so it is a real privilege to observe birds of prey, Black Storks, Cranes, Great
Egrets, Curlew and much more species so close to such a big city. Osprey, European pond turtles, Grey herons’ heronry,
tufted duck can be seen close to the inner lakes.
As a former game reserve, this estate hosts many mammals, like Deer, Doe and Wild Boar.
Several dedicated hides will be built inside the estate and it will become another photographic destination among Innate
reserves.
